    Sara Marques is a doctoral student in Machine Learning (ML) and Planetary Sciences at the University of Bern and a member of the National Center of Competence in Research (NCCR) PlanetS. She graduated in 2024 from a Double Master Degree in Aerospace Engineering, with specialization in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotics and Data Science from Institut Supérieur de l’Aéronautique et de l’Espace in France and Instituto Superior Técnico in Portugal.

    She has been an intern in Airbus Defence and Space in the Earth Observation (EO) department where she developed an AI algorithm for multi-optimization of the EO mission planning. Additionally, she has been an intern at the European Space Agency for the LISA mission, where she investigated the possibility of detecting near-Earth asteroids using the space-born gravitational waves detector. She keeps on researching on this last matter.

    Currently, she investigates the detection and prediction of yet to be detected terrestrial planets using AI and ML techniques, to be able to guide future observational campaigns.
