The European Space Agency (ESA) has inaugurated the European Space Deep-Tech Innovation Centre (ESDI), marking its first presence in Switzerland. Located at the Switzerland Innovation Park Innovaare in Villigen, in collaboration with the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI), the centre aims to advance deep tech for space exploration and European growth.
ESDI will focus on research in quantum, data, and materials. The centre’s primary goal is to accelerate the commercial adoption and availability of deep tech innovations, which are vital for space and beneficial for European citizens. By designing, establishing, and operating platforms for deep tech research, ESDI intends to bring tomorrow’s technologies to today’s world.
