In a landmark agreement, the European Space Agency (ESA), the European Commission (EC) and the European Investment Bank (EIB) have joined forces to enhance the European space sector.

This collaboration focuses on several key areas:

    • Actively identifying and supporting promising European space projects through ESA’s commercialisation network and the CASSINI ecosystem, complemented by financial guidance from EIB Advisory Services to facilitate access to financing
    • Facilitating the exchange of best practices in public-private partnership models for space initiatives
    • The Space Finance Labs Workshop, which aims to unite major EU space stakeholders to address funding challenges, especially in obtaining debt financing, gathering over 60 leading entities from the EU space sector to discuss and address financing bottlenecks

Gianluigi Baldesi, Head of the Ventures and Financing office at ESA, states: “The European Investment Bank, the European Commission and the European Space Agency are committed to implementing concrete steps to overcome the financing challenges and needs of the industry, marking a crucial advancement in supporting the European space industry.”
