Elaine Tan has over 20 years of experience in the international space sector, having spent over a decade working for Space Agencies (including ESA) on commercial activities before joining industry to lead newspace companies on business development and strategy within the quickly evolving policy & regulatory landscapes, such as the development of a new commercial spaceport for Europe (as VP Global Strategic Relations for Andoya Space Center). Before joining the Mission Space team, she advised the EC and UN Office for Outer Space Affairs on earth observation and international activities related to sustainable development, climate change and disaster risk reduction, which directed her attention to the need for safe and long-term sustainable use of outer space for ensuring the security and resilience of critical infrastructure that sustains life on Earth.
Elaine holds a Trium Global Executive MBA from HEC Paris, London School of Economics and NYU, a Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School & (Adv)LLMs from Leiden University and Université Paris-Panthéon-Assas, as well as a BSc in Environmental Sciences & Geophysics.
Mission Space is an SSA (Space Situational Awareness) startup, based in Luxembourg, launching the first LEO constellation-based commercial space weather platform to provide localised forecasting, nowcasting, and actionable insights specifically tailored to help protect industries at risk, in both space and on the ground.
