ESA BIC Lazio alumnus Involve Space has been awarded €12.5 million by the European Commission’s European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator, part of Horizon Europe, to develop next-generation autonomous stratospheric platforms for Earth observation.
Involve Space specialises in high-altitude platforms and AI-driven monitoring solutions. Its AIM project – Autonomous Intelligent Monitoring – integrates reusable stratospheric balloons, AI and real-time analytics to support applications ranging from critical infrastructure monitoring to disaster response and European security.
Involve Space was incubated at ESA BIC Lazio in Italy from 2023 to 2025, receiving technical and business support as well as access to partners within ESA network. During this time, the company actively took advantage of ESA BIC opportunities to gain visibility, participate in competitions, and connect with key institutional and commercial stakeholders.

Its proprietary systems, including Stratostats®, Stratorelay®, Neurostar®, and the CLEAR platform, provide continuous, cost-effective monitoring with rapid deployment, extended mission duration and automated insights, outperforming satellites and drones in temporal resolution and scalability.
The EIC funding will accelerate the deployment of the LoonHive® constellation, enhance CLEAR’s AI capabilities and strengthen partnerships with space agencies, government bodies and European enterprises.
