Promoted by ESA Business in Space Growth Network (BSGN), the Argonaut Mission 1 Payloads Day will take place on 17 April 2026 at the European Astronaut Centre (EAC), Cologne.
Argonaut Mission 1 is focused on demonstrating Europe’s end‑to‑end capability to land on the Moon’s south polar region (near side), with a target launch date in 2030. The mission aims to also deploy and operate two technology demonstrator payloads:
- The Robotic Surface Mobility Asset (RMSA) will explore the area around the landing site, support the deployment of other payloads, host scientific instruments, and test technologies for mobility and night survivability needed for future lunar exploration.
- The Moon Robotic Payload (MRP) will flight-demonstrate robotics technologies for future European lunar missions, gain operational experience, and support upcoming missions and objectives in line with the Lunar Exploration Roadmap.
Participants will receive an overview on procurement approach, mission and payload requirements, selection procedures, and the potential for opportunistic science linked to both payloads.
