Project-S
The rapid increase in space debris, especially fragments between 1-10 cm, threatens satellites and future missions. With over 900,000 such objects in orbit, collision risks are rising, driving up costs and endangering space sustainability. Current ground-based and optical tracking methods are limited by atmospheric interference, line-of-sight constraints, and inefficiency in dark orbital regions. Project-S addresses this challenge with an AI-driven, radar-based detection system on a cost-effective CubeSat platform. Unlike optical or ground-based systems, our active microwave radar operates in all conditions, detecting debris too small for traditional methods. AI-powered onboard processing ensures real-time tracking, while ground-based deep learning refines data for enhanced accuracy.
