Capacity Building Programme for Fund Managers – Episode 5 – Access to space
Investments in space technology, infrastructures and digital applications are a quickly growing segment. In the coming years, European companies will find new business opportunities coming from the launching of satellite constellations and new digital services. In addition the satellite data coming from EU space programs Galileo and Copernicus are key enablers of innovative high tech solutions across many verticals. In this context, the Commission together with EIF will launch the CASSINI Facility in Q2 2022, an InvestEU facility offering capital to VC funds aiming to set up a new space-focused fund, with a total investment capacity of €1 billion.
If you are interested in space investments, but want to find out more about market growth and conditions, technology development and business models, the European Commission, EIF, ESA and EUSPA offer a series of workshops tailored to your needs. The programme is designed to develop the skills and investment methodology of private investment funds who want to focus their activities on various space market segments. You will get access to:
- experts from ESA and EUSPA on space technology and downstream markets
- results from the latest European space market and investment studies
- advice from EIF on fund setup, investment strategy, and building the investment team
- an arena to discuss business models and best practices
- networking opportunities with other fund managers
The agenda will be organised around five thematic sessions structured in the following way:
