DI Simon Prüller, CEO & Co-Founder of 2nd Cycle FlexCo, brings a wealth of experience in special machinery construction, automation technology, renewable energies—particularly photovoltaics—project management, and leadership. He completed his mechanical engineering studies at Montanuniversität Leoben, during which he conducted his BSc thesis work in Kuala Lumpur. Additionally, he is currently pursuing an MBA in Business Management alongside his professional endeavors.
As Co-Founder and CEO of 2nd Cycle, he leads the development of a fully automated refurbishing system for used PV modules. The focus lies on identification, cleaning, high throughput testing and carry out small repairs to minimize costs. Currently, in Austria, the prototype is being built across multiple development stages. Furthermore, 2nd Cycle engages in the inspection of large PV installations using drones and thermography and conducts research on the condition monitoring of PV modules from space, in collaboration with Joanneum Research Graz and TU Graz, utilizing SAR satellites.
