Joel Korsakissok is a Computer Science and Telecom engineer, who graduated from Centrale-Supelec Engineering School Paris. He has worked in the space sector for 37 years, successively in Darmstadt, on ESOC projects. For the past 32 years he has led an engineering company specialising in Telecom and GNSS in Toulouse.
Joel founded SYNTONY GNSS a DeepTech startup, in 2015, which focuses on the development and sale of GNSS products. SYNTONY offers a suite of high-end GNSS simulators family, software defined radio GNSS receivers dedicated to embedded applications, and a unique GNSS-based underground location solution called SubWAVE addressing subways, road-tunnels and underground mining markets.
SYNTONY now has 60 high-skilled employees, operates in 5 continents, and is internationally recognized for its expertise and high-quality products. Currently, worldwide Satellite primes are testing their satellites with SYNTONY simulators, as Oneweb does, or utilising our SDR receiver onboard their spacecraft and other ground applications.
SYNTONY has raised more than 12 M€ from international Venture Capitals & Corporate Ventures. It is on track to become a leader in the 3 markets it addresses. Both SYNTONY GNSS and Joel have received many awards, among which the medal of the Academie De L’Aeronautique et de L’Espace, in 2019.
