In January 2023 ESA BIC Portugal started its own podcast “Dá-me Espaço”, aimed to share information and ideas about starting a new business using space technology. The podcast, hosted by Pedro Lacerda, Technology Broker at ESA BIC Portugal, encourages the bond among the scientific and the technological world and the industrial sector to discuss what is happening across these areas. In each episode, entrepreneurs, experts and scientists will share their ideas and projects to inspire other people and enable them to better understand the space and the technology sectors.
In the first episode the projects of two companies were presented: Vast and ViBo Health. Vast is a company developing the world’s first artificial gravity space station. Their goal is enabling humans to live and work in space for a long period of time, without the side effects of zero gravity like deterioration of the musculoskeletal system and permanent biological damages. The second company hosted in the episode was ViBo Health, a start-up currently incubated at ESA BIC Portugal that is working on a scanner able to track human metabolic processes and allow users to easily check their health status and metabolic levels. Gil Travish, CEO and founder of ViBo Health, said during the interview: “Through this non-invasive technology we empower people so that everyone can easily check, track and know their health status. Thanks to our solution, people will not only live longer but better lives. That’s our biggest impact!”
