Blackwave helps customers from the mobility sector to save weight in a cost-efficient manner. A weight reduction of 100kg at conventional combustion car leads to fuel savings of 0,7l per 100 km or 4 tons of CO2 over the entire vehicle service life. Therefore, Blackwave is developing and producing lightweight solutions out of carbon fiber sheet molding compound (Carbon-SMC). This process is able to create geometrically complex carbon fiber reinforced plastic parts (CFRP) with high mechanical properties.
