DESCRIPTION
FARWIND offers a “ready-to-use” solution for the production of renewable energy that is controllable and competitive with a sail-hydro turbine, a wind-propelled vessel under which a high-powered tidal turbine is installed. This tidal turbine converts the ship’s kinetic energy into electricity, which is then stored on board in batteries, or converted into hydrogen by electrolysis or liquid fuel (methanol) via an on-board Power-to-Liquid installation. The ships of the FARWIND solution are autonomous in order to minimise operating costs. They are deployed in fleets remotely operated from a control centre.
